Water Heater (Tankless)

LPG tankless water heaters are increasingly becoming the chosen type of water heater for a number of reasons. They provide comfort, versatility, convenience, and efficiency by supplying high volumes of hot water with compact and highly innovative technology.

LPG tankless water heaters are much more efficient in their use, due to the fact that they only heat water as demanded ie only when a downstream water fixture opens the hot water valve. Periods of inactivity consume no gas and produce no emissions. Therefore, tankless water heaters are more cost effective as well as being much more environmentally friendly

Tankless water heaters provide all of the hot water needed for a wide range of applications, where a steady, reliable supply of hot water is required.  These include industrial and agricultural processes, dairy farms, hotels, restaurants, leisure centres and sports clubs amongst others.

Features

Compact and lightweight, LPG tankless water heating systems are ideal for domestic and small commercial applications. Tankless water heaters are "on demand" systems. Water enters the unit and travels through "coils" that are heated by an LPG-fired burner to a preset/desired temperature. The hot water then travels to the tap for use until the tap is closed at which point the heater shuts down, sensing that the flow of water has stopped. Tankless water heaters are self contained heat exchangers utilizing technology that operates by sensing downstream demand (tap activation and cold water flow), automatically adjusting as demand varies, and shutting down when hot water is no longer needed. There is no wasted time and more importantly, no wasted energy.

Benefits

Did you know that hot water heaters are the second highest energy using appliances in a home?

The US Department of Energy estimates that 15 to 25 percent of a home's energy costs are spent heating water. That's why the selection an efficient water heater is critical — and LPG fuels some of the most efficient tankless water heating technologies available. A tankless LPG water heater has a number of advantages over an electric tank water heater:

  • These systems are “on-demand”, they heat water only when needed. The auto-ignition also means costs are only incurred when the unit is being used - whereas tank water heaters tend to waste energy heating water you aren’t using. This feature reduces energy consumption and eliminates  losses that occur in systems with storage tanks. Tankless water heaters can cut costs by up to 30%.
  • They offer a clean, low-carbon hot water solution with 50-60% lower CO2 emissions compared with electric storage tank systems.
  • They deliver an endless supply of hot water enabling the simultaneous operation of appliances. This means that varying hot water demands can be met and consumers needn’t ever worry about running out of hot water.

The fact that water isn’t stored is a major advantage, eliminating hot water storage costs and results in significantly lower levels of scale and reduced risk of harmful bacteria. No holding tank means fresh, clean, hot water every time.

  • Unlike older types of instantaneous water heaters, LPG powered tankless heaters constantly measure and control the temperature of the water and its flow. This is accurately done (temperature settings usually range from 37°C to 75°) ensuring temperatures always modulated within safe parameters.
  • Most tankless units have 10-15 year warranties and can last up to 20 years before replacement.  Tank units typically have a 6-year warranty and only last 8-10 years.
  • Many LPG tankless water heaters are made of entirely recycled materials whereas most tank units must be disposed of in landfills. They are also less subject to corrosion

Tankless units are about the size of a typical carry-on suitcase and can be placed almost anywhere in the house. They can easily be mounted on virtually any interior or exterior wall in the building, thus helping save significant space.
