Patio heaters are very popular in many parts of the world for heating patios and outdoor spaces in restaurants, hotels but also for home and garden.
The most known type is the "mushroom" or "umbrella" type patio heater which generates radiant heat through a burner fuelled by LPG (propane, butane or mix) that sits on the top of a post. This burner directs the flames against a perforated metal screen and then heat is radiated from the surface of the screen in a circular pattern around the appliance. A reflector atop the burner reflects heat that would be otherwise lost upwards.
Another popular type of patio heaters is the the flame tower type. This features usually an aluminium heat reflector, toughened glass tubes and stainless steel housing and guards. Providing both heat and ambient light, these are the perfect patio heaters for creating a warm and cosy environment for entertaining.
Patio heaters have become very popular with bars and restaurants since they extend the day and the season for their customers to sit outdoors.
